Our Programs

Over the past 15 years, through a series of innovative and effective basketball programs, Jumpball has served more than 3,000 children and helped train dozens of coaches. In addition, Jumpball can claim responsibility for more than 1,000,000 smiles. As always, participation is absolutely free.

Jumpball Basketball Clinics

Nearly 600 children participate in Jumpball Basketball Clinics each summer. The clinics are open to boys and girls between the ages of 12 – 16 from beginner to advanced skill levels. Campers receive great basketball instruction that stresses the key elements of Jumpball’s mission. Additionally, all participants receive free lunch and great giveaways.

Jumpball Basketball Clinic: Kingston: The nation’s capital was the site of the first Jumpball Basketball Clinic and to this day is the centerpiece of the Jumpball Basketball Programme. Held for the last 10 years at the National Stadium Basketball Courts, the four-day Jumpball Basketball Clinic: Kingston is now able to accommodate 300 children.

Coaching Development

Many Jumpball volunteer coaches are interested in pursuing careers in youth education, sports management, and coaching. To support this desire for growth within the sports development field and to bolster the strength of the Jumpball coaching team, numerous opportunities are offered to individuals seeking experience in coaching development. As with all Jumpball programs, these opportunities are offered free of charge and include:

Jumpball Coaching Certification: This intense one-day curriculum covers topics such as leadership, communication, motivation, the Jumpball mission, conflict resolution, and other coaching skills. The course is offered prior to the kick-off of the Jumpball Basketball Clinic: Kingston.

Caribbean Coaching Certification Programme: As an investment in our coaching staff, participation in the CCCP course is 100% subsidized for interested Jumball Certified coaches. CCCP is an internationally recognized coaching certification, designed by Caribbean coaches for Caribbean coaches, with the main objective of improving the competency of all coaches, in all sports throughout the Caribbean.

Scholarships for Volunteer Coaches: A number of our volunteer coaches aspire to make or further their careers in coaching, teaching, or some other aspect of youth development. To assist with associated educational costs, Jumpball awards scholarships to a handful of Jumpball-Certified volunteer coaches each summer.

Notre Dame Student Service Projects

To build upon Jumpball’s connection with the University of Notre Dame, interested students are encouraged to apply for a volunteer position to provide on-site assistance to the summer Jumpball Basketball Clinic: Kingston. Preference is given to applicants who have demonstrated leadership by working with the Notre Dame Bookstore Basketball Tournament – the world’s largest five-on-five basketball tournament, an annual tradition at Notre Dame, and a major sponsor of the Jumpball Basketball Programme.
